Shares in Asia mostly lower after BoJ's decision

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly with losses on Thursday after the Bank of Japan (BoJ) voted to leave its interest rate unchanged in its latest monetary policy meeting.

In business news, Samsung topped estimates with its third-quarter earnings, while, on the data front, Tokyo observed a 2.7% yearly increase in retail sales in September.

The Kospi Composite added 0.17% at 7:20 am CET. Over in China, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.82% at 7:05 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite concurrently surrendered 0.75%.

The Nikkei 225 dropped 0.79% at 7:21 am CET, following the break, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 slipped 0.25% at the close. Hong Kong's Hang Seng stood flat at 7:22 am CET, while the dollar declined 0.26% compared to the yen at the same time, selling for 113.5360.
