Shiffrin wins women's giant slalom in Andorra

Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States won the women's giant slalom race in Andorra on Sunday, marking her 17th victory in the season.

She finished the race with a total time of 2:23.17, after being ranked best in both the first and the second run. The American's best opponent was New Zealand's Alice Robinson who came in second, followed by Vlhova Petra of Slovakia who finished the race in third place.

Shiffrin's latest victory leaves her on track to close in on compatriot Lindsey Vonn's record, who had a total of 82 World Cup wins before retiring this season at the age of 34.
