Shinzo Abe announces Cabinet changes

Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reshuffled his Cabinet on Wednesday, replacing 17 out of 1 of his Cabinet ministers in an effort to ensure "stability."

Abe appointed Shinjiro Koizumi as environment minister, while Foreign Minister Taro Kono will head the Department of Defense. Meanwhile, Toshimitsu Motegi will take on the role of foreign minister.

Back in July, Abe's coalition secured a majority in the country's national elections.
