India extends Delhi lockdown to May 17

The lockdown aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus in Delhi, India will stay in place at least until May 17, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unveiled on Sunday.

Kejriwal explained that the positivity rate in the area has reduced from 35% to 23%, but warned that any relaxation of measures could change the situation regarding the pandemic for the worse.

During the last 24 hours, India has added more than 400,000 new COVID cases, and more than 4,000 virus-related deaths.
