Iran drops one demand to reach nuclear deal - media

Iran decided to stop demanding that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) be excluded from the United States list of terrorist organizations, CNN reported on August 19, citing a source.

The demand to exclude the organization from the terrorist list was not included in Tehran's latest response to the European Union's nuclear deal proposal this week. According to the source, this could be the reason why all sides are now more optimistic about finally reaching a deal after long negotiations as Washington was adamant to leave the IRGC on the above-mentioned list.

Previously, some media reported that Iran's answer to the Western nuclear proposal could include a demand to release $7 billion in its frozen assets in Seoul.
