Italian inflation up to 3.8% in November

The Italian consumer price index (CPI) rose 3.8% in November, according to a preliminary report released by the country's statistical office Istat on Tuesday. In October, annual inflation stood at 3%.

The acceleration in inflation growth was mainly attributed to non-regulated energy products, whose prices soared 24.3% on an annual basis. Regulated energy prices inflation stood at 41.8%, slightly down from October when it was 42.3%. Prices of services rallied 3.6% and processed food prices were up 1.7%.

On a monthly basis, preliminary figures showed consumer prices rose 0.7% in November. Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices increased 0.8% month on month and 4% year on year.
