Italy administers 100M COVID vaccine doses

The Italian government said on Wednesday that 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country.

The authorities noted that 45.8 million or 85% of the population over the age of 12 has been fully vaccinated, while 88% received at least one dose of the jab. Meanwhile, over 9.6 million Italians received a booster dose.

Earlier in the week, Italy tightened restrictions for the unvaccinated, requiring a COVID Super Green Pass to enter theaters, cinemas, music venues, sports events, restaurants and bars until mid-January.
