Siemens posts EPS of €2.82 in Q2

Siemens AG said on Friday that its earnings per share (EPS) stood at €2.82 in the second quarter of its fiscal 2021, soaring by more than 200% compared to the same period a year earlier.

Net income was €2.4 billion and adjusted EBITA Industrial Businesses climbed 31% year on year to €2.1 billion. The company attributed the rise in net income and EPS to "substantially higher Adjusted EBITA Industrial Businesses and a positive contribution from discontinued operations, mainly related to a €0.9 billion gain from the sale of Flender." Meanwhile, revenue jumped 6% to €14.7 billion in the three-month period.

"As our order intake and revenue in the second quarter impressively demonstrate, our customers place great trust in us. We support them with their digital transformation, which enables them to become faster, more efficient and more sustainable," CEO Roland Busch stated. "I’m extremely pleased that all our businesses are delivering excellent results and that we’re growing profitably – despite continuing uncertainties," he added.
