Spahn: Germany to offer AZ vaccine to all adults

German Health Minister Jens Spahn announced on Thursday the country will start offering AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine to all adults, erasing the previous restriction to people older than 60.

Furthermore, the government is working on being able to offer the Pfizer jab to children between 12 and 18 years by the end of August in order to speed the pace of the rollout. On the other hand, the 12-week gap between the two doses could also get shortened, Spahn concluded.

"Both these measures serve to further accelerate our vaccination campaign overall," the minister explained.
