Spahn: Germany to offer vaccine to all adults by June

German Health Minister Jens Spahn told the Bundesrat upper house of parliament on Thursday that he's expecting to drop all age limits for adults for COVID-19 vaccination by June and therefore offer a shot to anybody above 18 years old. He also added that reaching this goal sooner would be even better news.

The vaccination process in Germany is regulated by the Standing Committee on Vaccination or STIKO, which has been defining priority groups by age. So far, 21.6% of the population received at least the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

German authorities are also looking to increase the number of jabs available by offering Russia's Sputnik V vaccine, for which they've already reached an initial agreement to buy 30 million doses for the three summer months.
