Spahn: If we don't act now, payback will come in 2 weeks

German Health Minister Jens Spahn (pictured) stated on Thursday that a failure to take more determined action in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus will result in a much worse situation "in 2 to 3 weeks."

During a press conference, Spahn urged the states to prepare for the implementation of tighter COVID restrictions, so they can impose them more quickly once they have been agreed upon on a federal level.

He noted that Germany is still on track to vaccinate 20% of its population by the end of April, attributing the optimism to the CureVac vaccine deal.
