Spain adds 8,745 COVID-19 cases, 214 fatalities

The Spanish Health Ministry revealed on Friday it had registered 8,745 new infections from COVID-19 in the country, 4,372 in the previous 24 hours, which brought the total number of cases recorded since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,684,647.

The death toll from the effects of coronavirus rose by 214 to land at a total of 46,252 since the outbreak of the disease in Spain.

Meanwhile, 12,552 patients remained in hospital care and 2,371 in intensive care units. The officials added they had performed 894,576 tests in the previous seven days, with the percentage of tests coming back negative at 8%.
