Sri Lanka bans travellers from 6 countries over COVID

The Sri Lankan government has issued a travel ban for individuals coming from six African countries over concerns about a new variant of the coronavirus that first appeared on the continent.

The nations that the restriction applies to are: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Eswatini.

Those that arrive on Saturday will have to show a negative PCR test as well as undergo a two-week quarantine and starting Sunday people arriving from the aforementioned nations will be banned from entering Sri Lanka.
