Stellantis' new platforms to produce 2M EVs per year

Stellantis' four new platforms for manufacturing electric vehicles are expected to each support the carmaker's plans to produce up to 2 million cars a year, the company's country manager for Italy Santo Ficili said on Wednesday.

After combining the group's 14 brands in early 2021, and becoming the world's fourth-largest automaker, Stellantis is aiming for more than 70% of its sales in Europe to come from electric vehicles. The company will invest over 30 million euros by 2025 in supporting its electric vehicle infrastructure.

"The four platforms are designed with a high level of flexibility and parts sharing to create scale economies," Ficili explained.
