Stoltenberg: Russia is fighting for its 'imperial delusions'
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday during his press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russia is fighting for its "imperial delusions" in Ukraine, adding that the war-hit country faces fierce fighting but is gradually regaining ground.
Stoltenberg continued by confirming that NATO has framework contracts in place for €2.4 billion worth of key ammunition including €1 billion in orders, while emphasizing NATO's continuous support to Ukraine. This covers capabilities like 155 mm artillery, tank-guided missiles, and main battle tank ammunition.
He concluded by saying that "the stronger Ukraine becomes, the closer we come to ending Russia's aggression," adding that the NATO allies have spent nearly €100 billion in military support committed to Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion.
