Sturgeon calls on May to rule out no-deal Brexit

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon called on British Prime minister Theresa May to take a no-deal Brexit off the table.

"It's not inevitable - the government at UK level should take that prospect off the table, it should rule out no deal and its failure to do so with every day that passes right now becomes increasingly reckless and negligent," she told ITV's Peston on Wednesday. "You know to be sitting in peacetime in a prosperous country talking about the possibility of food shortages and medicine shortages is frankly incredible," she added.

Meanwhile, May remains confident that she will secure a deal that will be backed by Parliament before March 29 when Britain is scheduled to leave the EU as that is the only way to avoid a no-deal Brexit.
