Sturgeon urges UK govt to treat Scotland, Wales fairly

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warned the Conservative Party on Friday against giving any more concessions to Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in the Brexit negotiations at the expense of Scotland and Wales. Sturgeon also called for fair treatment of all parts of the United Kingdom, after it was reported that the British government might offer Northern Ireland extra spending in order to persuade the DUP to back Prime Minister Theresa May's withdrawal deal.

"It will add further outrage to the Brexit scandal if the Tories' need to bribe the DUP sees Scotland and Wales shortchanged again. I don’t grudge Northern Ireland a penny but there must be fair treatment," Sturgeon stated on Twitter.

Earlier today, DUP's deputy leader Nigel Dodds said that the party had a "constructive dialogue" with the members of the government. The talks focused on allowing the Parliament of Northern Ireland to have a say in all future European legislation that concerns the Irish backstop, in an arrangement called "Stormont Lock."
