Sweden says ready to restart talks with Turkey
Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson confirmed on Tuesday his country stands ready to restart negotiations with Turkey regarding Sweden's bid to join NATO.
"The first thing we need to do is calm down the situation. It is hard to have good talks when things are literally burning around you ... As soon as they are prepared [for talks], we are obviously prepared," Kristersson told reporters during his visit to Estonia.
The negotiations were halted last month following protests across Stockholm, during which a far-right politician burned a copy of the Quran, the Muslim holy book.
