Switzerland approves boosters for at-risk people

The Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (Swissmedic) approved on Tuesday the use of COVID-19 vaccines made by Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech for people at "especially high risk." The shots can be given at least 6 months after the second dose.

Meanwhile, Swissmedic stated patients with a weakened immune system can receive a third dose at least 28 days after the second. The agency cited a clinical trial that showed a third dose improved the immune response to the coronavirus in participants who had undergone an organ transplant compared to the control group.
