Switzerland to ease COVID measures in March

Switzerland will relax some of the measures aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus on March 1, the country's federal council announced on Wednesday.

In a televised press conference after the meeting of the seven-member executive body, Swiss President Guy Parmelin (pictured) explained that the relaxation of measures will include retail, museums, as well as outdoor sports.

The Swiss government introduced the virus containment measures, including a ban on all public events, in early December, attributing the decision to the "worsening" pandemic situation in the country.
