Talks with Russia possible with new president - Zelensky adviser

Ukrainian peace negotiator and adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mykhailo Podolyak, said negotiations between Kiev and Moscow can happen if Russia's President Vladimir Putin is no longer in office.

He said a new leader that can "assess reality more adequately" can be the only one to hold peace talks with Ukraine. "There is no point in negotiating with those who 'dance on bones' — Putin and his entourage. The price of their words has a negative value," he concluded.

Podolyak's comments come after the Kremlin on Friday formally annexed four territories in eastern Ukraine.
