Tariffs on cars from EU may be waived - Ross

The United States Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross stressed on Sunday that his country may not impose previously announced tariffs on imported vehicles from the European Union. He added that Huawei licenses for the US companies will come "very shortly."

"Our hope is that the negotiations we’ve been having with individual companies about their capital investment plans will bear enough fruit that it may not be necessary to put the 232 fully into effect, may not even be necessary to put it partly in effect. We’ve had very good conversations with our European friends, with our Japanese friends, with our Korean friends, and those are the major auto producing sectors," US Secretary said.

Previously, Washington sanctions on goods from the European Union came into effect on October 18.
