Ten-year Treasury yield drops to new all-time low

The yield on the benchmark ten-year United States Treasury dropped to another all-time low on Friday after the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continued its impact on the country's economy, as US Vice President Mike Pence revealed that the total number of infections rose to 150, while the death toll increased to 12 in the US. Yesterday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index closed the trading session 970 points in the red.

The yield on the 10-year Treasury note dropped 13 basis points to a record low 0.794% at 3:35 am ET. The return on the two-year note declined by 8.7 basis points to 0.498% at 3:41 am ET, while the yield on 30-year debt fell by 17 basis points to 1.399% at 3:42 am ET.

The two-year note futures rose by 0.13%, the 10-year note futures increased by 0.55% and the 30-year bond futures jumped 1.29% at 3:27 am ET.
