Ten-year Treasury yield lowest since February

The yield on the benchmark ten-year United States Treasury dropped to February lows on Thursday on economic outlook concerns as stock exchanges traded with sharp losses in the premarket. Yesterday, Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) minutes showed that a majority of policymakers think that "substantial further progress" toward the Federal Reserve's maximum employment and price stability goals has not been met yet to begin reducing asset purchases.

The yield on the 10-year Treasury note dropped 6.5 basis points to 1.256% at 6:34 am ET, while the return on the two-year note declined 1.4 basis points to 0.202% a minute later. The yield on the 30-year debt decreased by 7.2 basis points to 1.872% at 6:35 am ET.

The two-year note futures rose by 0.02%, the 10-year note futures gained 0.37% and the 30-year bond futures advanced 0.92% at 6:42 am ET.
