Tesla Motors: 325,000 deposits for Model 3
Tesla Motors, Inc. reported it has received 325 thousand deposits for its Model 3, in the latest message on Twitter.
The tweet with hashtag #Model3 reads: "A huge step towards a more sustainable future: 325,000 and counting".
In the related blog post, the Palo Alto, California-based electric car maker company said over 325,000 reservations for the latest vehicle corresponds to "about $14 billion in implied future sales, making this the single biggest one-week launch of any product ever."
The reservations included a deposit of $1,000 for the prospective buyers in the United States of America and similar amounts in the stores around the world, and online reservations.
The company claims the interest had "spread completely organically," without paying any advertisements and endorsements.
"Instead, this has been a true grassroots effort driven by the passion of the Tesla team that’s worked so hard to get to this point and our current and future customers who believe so strongly in what we are trying to achieve," reads the blog.
Model 3 sedan was unveiled on March 31 via webcast and in Tesla shops around the world.
