TikTok 'disappointed' with US government ban

Chinese video-sharing social networking service TikTok asserted on Saturday that the oversight of its data in the United States has already pledged to the US government that it will include third-party audits and enable US government's oversight of the data security, adding it was "disappointed" with the government's decision to ban users in the US from downloading both TikTok and WeChat starting September 20.

Together with its parent company, ByteDance Ltd., TikTok filed a complaint in a Washington federal court earlier today asking for a "declaratory” judgment and an order "invalidating and preliminarily and permanently enjoining the Prohibitions and the August 6 order."

TikTok and its proposed technology partner Oracle have previously agreed to revise their deal in accordance with demands from the United States Treasury Department
