Tokyo CPI grows 0.8% YoY in November

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Ku-area of Tokyo stood at 102.2 in November, 0.8% higher than in the same month last year, unadjusted for seasonal changes, according to a preliminary report by the Statistics Bureau of Japan published on Friday.

Prices of all items except fresh food added 0.6% year-over-year and 0.2% from the previous month, with the index at 102.0. All items minus fresh food and energy recorded a CPI of 102.2, up 0.7% on a yearly basis and 0.1% month-on-month.

Largest annual increases in prices were observed in furniture and household utensils and clothes and footwear, while education, miscellaneous and fuel, light and water charges recorded the biggest drop in prices.
