Trump admin issues guidelines for air travel

Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released guidelines for air travel urging passengers to put on a mask when aboard a plane in order to minimize the spread of coronavirus.

"Airlines and airports are strongly encouraged to require that everyone correctly wear a mask or cloth face-covering in shared spaces," the agencies noted in a joint memo, adding that masks are especially needed when social distancing cannot be established.

The move comes after US President Donald Trump admitted he wears a mask, but doesn't believe people should be mandated to follow suit.
