Trump approval rating jumps after shutdown end - poll

United States President Donald Trump's approval rating jumped by 7 percentage points after the recent government shutdown ended, a recent Gallup poll released on Wednesday showed. The president had support of 37% of the voters in mid-January, while in early February it increased to 44%. However, 69% of the people interviewed said they are not satisfied with the current situation in the US, while 29% said they are happy.

Meanwhile, the survey showed that the number of people identifying as Republican increased from last month. 85% of Republican voters who participated in the poll said they approve of Trump's work, while only 5% of Democratic voters said the same about the president. The poll included 1,016 voters in the period between February 1 and 10.

Yesterday, Trump said that he is not "happy" with the bipartisan deal on government funding. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urged the president to sign the deal to keep the government open after February 15.
