Trump considers Mnuchin, Conway for chief of staff - report

United States President Donald Trump might be considering US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to replace Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, media reported on Tuesday.

Mulvaney has been heavily criticized by Trump's opponents after he said at a press conference last week that the suspension of Ukrainian military aid was related to suspicions that Ukraine could retrieve a breached server with data from the Democratic National Committee. Afterwards, he said "the media has decided to misconstrue my comments to advance a biased and political witch hunt."

Allegedly, Trump asked Mnuchin a month ago to be his chief because "he has such great ideas," and he asked people close to him if they think Conway would "be a good choice for the position," Bloomberg reported.
