Trump continues attack on 'radical left' Democrats

United States President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday to continue his attack on four minority Democratic congresswomen and slammed House Democrats for seeking to condemn his comments rather than the lawmakers' "anti-Israel, anti-USA, pro-terrorist" statements.

"The Democrat Congresswomen have been spewing some of the most vile, hateful, and disgusting things ever said by a politician in the House or Senate, & yet they get a free pass and a big embrace from the Democrat Party. Horrible anti-Israel, anti-USA, pro-terrorist & public shouting of the F...word, among many other terrible things, and the petrified Dems run for the hills," Trump wrote. "Why isn’t the House voting to rebuke the filthy and hate laced things they have said? Because they are the Radical Left, and the Democrats are afraid to take them on. Sad!" he added.

The US president first attacked the representatives Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib over the weekend, telling them to go back to the "broken and crime infested" countries they came from and later stood by his statements, insisting those who are not happy with US policies are "free to leave" the country. Numerous Democrats branded his tweets "racist" and several Republican lawmakers called the comments "unacceptable." On the other hand, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Vice President Mike Pence's aide Marc Short defended the president by saying they did not see the remarks as racist.
