Trump: COVID-19 risks to Americans remains low

United States President Donald Trump said the risks of the COVID-19 outbreak remain low to the American people.

The decision made early by Washington to close borders with some countries as soon as the epidemic started, despite criticism, minimized the risks of the disease for those living in the US, Trump claimed. He stressed the health and safety of the people in his country has always been a priority.

Additionally, the president noted his Administration is willing to spend whatever amount of money is appropriate to mitigate the effects of the virus, despite asking for $2.5 billion. He underscored, however, that he doesn't think a lot of money will have to be spent because the country was successful at keeping the virus contained.
