Trump doesn't want aides to appear before House committees

United States President Donald Trump said he is opposed to White House aides testifying to Congress, calling it "obviously very partisan." Several House committees, controlled by Democrats, issued subpoenas to members of the administration, including Trump's advisor Stephen Miller and former counsel Don McGahn.

"I don’t want people testifying to a party, because that is what they’re doing if they do this," Trump told the Washington Post. He added that the Democrats are only using the subpoenas for political purposes. His comments follow reports that the White House is considering invoking executive privilege to stop McGahn from testifying. However, the president said the White House counsel has not made a final decision.
