Trump, Erdogan discuss ending Idlib crisis

US President Donald Trump and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed on Saturday over the phone ways to end the ongoing crisis in Syria's Idlib province, condemning the most recent Syrian regime attacks there as "unacceptable."

"The president [Erdogan] and Trump exchanged views on ways to end the crisis in Idlib without further delay," read a statement by the Turkish presidency.

Erdogan already vowed to respond to the attacks by making Syria "pay a heavy price" for the killing of five Turkish soldiers, while Bashar Al Assad's regime's number one ally, Moscow, defended the assault as being aimed at eliminating terrorists.
