Trump, Erdogan meet at NATO summit

United States President Donald Trump met with his Turkish counterpart President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the NATO summit in London on Wednesday. The meeting lasted approximately half an hour and was attended by Turkey’s Foreign, Finance, and Defense Ministers, along with former Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin.

Erdogan’s communications director Fahrettin Altun called the meeting with President Trump “extremely productive”, though no details have been released yet.

Turkey has reiterated its concern over the alliance’s failure to recognize the threat it faces in northern Syria from the YPG, which it designates as a terror group. "NATO must act in a way that will meet the concerns of all allies,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said last week.
