Trump extends social distancing guidelines until April 30

United States President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he expects the highest point in death rates from COVID-19 to hit in two weeks. He also added that the government will be extending its social distancing guidelines until April 30.

Speaking at a briefing at the White House, Trump said that the US has been doing "more tests than any other country anywhere in the world. This is the one among the reasons we have more cases of infection."

"Nothing would be worse than to declare victory when there is no victory at all. We have to follow the guidelines. The better you do, the faster this whole nightmare will end," said Trump adding that he expects that by June 1 the country will be "well on the way to recover."
