Trump: Macron took back brain dead NATO remarks

French President Emmanuel Macron took back his comments that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is "brain-dead" when he spoke to NATO leaders in London, United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday.

Earlier, Macron faced severe criticism from NATO allies after he made the remarks about the organization as Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Trump said they disagreed with Macron. Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Macron himself was "brain-dead" for making the statement.

On Tuesday, Macron insisted that he still stands by his comment.
