Trump makes case for wall, urges Dems to return

United States President Donald Trump set out his argument for erecting a wall on the United States's southern border with Mexico in a series of tweets on Sunday. Trump said that the wall's construction would lower the crime rate throughout the country and that thousands of illegal immigrants were in Texan jails for committing various sexual crimes against children, which demonstrated the need for a wall. In his tweet on the latter, he quoted the comments that John Jones of the Texas Department of Public Safety made at last week's roundtable discussion which Trump attended.

Trump also tweeted that he was in the White House "waiting" and that the Democrats were everywhere except for Washington while federal employees waited to get paid. He further remarked that the damage done to the US "from a badly broken border" outweighed the present government shutdown and urged the Democrats to remedy the situation by returning to Washington.
