Trump Org ex-CFO to testify in trial against company

Allen Weisselberg, former chief financial officer at the Trump Organization, pleaded guilty on Thursday to tax violations, it was shared by US media channels.

Weisselberg pleaded guilty to all of the 15 charges Manhattan District Attorney's Office laid against him while admitting that he assisted in a years-long tax fraud scheme at the former United States President Donald Trump's company. The ex-CFO struck a deal to testify in the upcoming trial against the Trump Organization, in exchange for 5 months in jail and 5 years probation.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg underlined that "this plea agreement directly implicates the Trump Organization in a wide range of criminal activity and requires Weisselberg to provide invaluable testimony in the upcoming trial against the corporation." Meanwhile, ex-CFO's attorney said that Weisselberg did not want to risk "the possibility of 15 years in prison."
