Trump pushing for China to buy more US goods - report

United States President Donald Trump is encouraging the American negotiators to get China to reduce the trade deficit between the two countries, CNBC reported on Thursday.

Beijing reportedly offered to buy up to $1.22 trillion in US agriculture, energy and aircraft products over a period of six years following the December G20 meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. However, the US president wants the number "doubled or tripled," sources told the media outlet, while his advisors allegedly attempt to shift the focus onto demands for more long-term structural changes in China's economic regulation.

Earlier, China's Commerce Ministry announced Vice Premier Liu He will visit the US in April for another round of trade negotiations.
