Trump rescinded JCPOA as it was associated with Obama - report

Britain's outgoing ambassador to Washington Kim Darroch indicated that the United States President Donald Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) mainly because it was associated with his predecessor Barack Obama, Sunday Times reported. According to the additional diplomatic cables leaked by the newspaper, Darroch assessed that Trump's unilateral annulment of the Iran deal was an act of "diplomatic vandalism," adding that the White House doesn't have a long-term strategy for the ongoing dispute with Tehran.

This week, Darroch resigned from his position after cables sent by him, in which he described Trump as "insecure" and "incompetent," were leaked. Afterwards, London's Metropolitan Police started a criminal investigation into leaks of said diplomatic communication.

Earlier, the media reported that the UK security forces know who leaked the cables, adding that the person involved in the act wasn't associated with any foreign governments.
