Trump to sign border security deal – report

United States President Donald Trump decided to support the tentative agreement reached by the Republican and Democratic lawmakers, CNN reported on Wednesday. Unnamed sources revealed he expressed the intention to sign the bill. The president yesterday said he is "not happy" after slamming members of Congress from the opposition during the talks on several occasions.

He has claimed Republicans, which have a majority in Senate, are wasting time and that they wouldn't be able to secure the $5.7 billion he asked for the construction of a wall at the border with Mexico and other costs directly connected with the project. However, Trump is now faced with legislation backed by a substantial bipartisan majority and it would be more costly for him politically if he takes responsibility for another freeze after the record-long one through January 25.

Negotiators adopted a tentative deal envisaging only $1.38 billion for the purpose, compared to $1.6 billion from last year.
