Trump urges Dems to 'change immigration laws'

United States President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday to once again urge congressional Democrats to work on changing the country's immigration laws. Trump claimed that, unless an immigration reform is implemented, the situation on the US-Mexico border will "only get worse."

"Democrats in Congress must return from their Vacations and change the Immigration Laws, or the Border, despite the great job being done by Border Patrol, will only get worse. Big sections of Wall now being built!" the US president wrote.

In March, Trump threatened to close the border with Mexico unless Congress takes appropriate measures to solve the problem. The White House called on the Democrats to hold talks with Republicans in an effort to help the GOP "fix a broken system," end the "humanitarian crisis" and avoid closing the border. Meanwhile, Democratic Senator and presidential candidate Cory Booker agreed with the president on Tuesday that the US has a "problem at the southern border," but said the issue should be resolved in a different way as Trump's "technologies don’t work."
