Trump: West faced with dire threats

United States President Donald Trump said in Warsaw on Thursday that the West is faced with "dire threats" to security in the form of "radical Islamic terrorism," but expressed confidence it will manage to overcome and defeat those threats. "We will win, but there are threats," he claimed.

Trump noted both US and Europe have been victims of many terror attacks as a result of an "oppressive ideology" and pointed out it is important for the nations of the world to "stand untied" against extremism in order to "prevail" against "this menace." He insisted the West's "adversaries are doomed" because the power of its alliance is "unmatched."

Reflecting on the issue of cyber warfare, Trump stressed the importance of adapting to "new battlefields" in order to defeat its adversaries. The US president also urged Russia to stop its "destabilizing" behavior in Ukraine and stop supporting the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria and join the West in the battle against terrorism.
