TSE to form working group to assess longer working hours

Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) announced on Tuesday that it will form a working group that will consider, among other things, the possibility of introducing longer working hours.

"In order to respond to changes in market environment and diversifying investor needs, we will establish the Working Group for Strengthening the Functions of the Cash Equity Market," the TSE said in a statement, confirming a report published earlier this week.

The report claimed that the Japanese bourse plans to extend the working hours in order to attract foreign investors, and predicted that only spot-trading stocks will be available during the extra time.
