Turkey didn't get away with Russian missile purchase - State Dept

United States Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Clarke Cooper said that Turkey didn't get away with its S-400 missile purchase from Russia.

He noted the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) applies to Ankara and that Washington still plans to implement punitive measures against the country for purchasing the Russian missiles. Although the sanctions have not yet been imposed, he claims Turkey is running out of time before that happens.

Back in December, the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations passed the Promoting American National Security and Preventing the Resurgence of ISIS Act, which covers sanctions against Turkey for purchasing the S-400 missile system.
