Turkey likely to purchase new S-400 batch - Russian official

Ankara will "most likely" agree with Moscow on purchasing another contingent of Triumf S-400 missile systems, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov stressed on Friday. He added that Russia "occupies a stable second place in terms of [arms] sales," stating that his country has long term orders for military equipment worth $55 billion.

"Most likely, they will exercise their option and continue to work with us. We hope so. Turkey chose this complex [S-400] because it is the best in the world today by its characteristics. In general, Russian air defense systems are a cut above all world competitors," Borisov told Russia-24.

Earlier this month, a Russian official revealed that Moscow and Ankara are negotiating another arms deal for 2020 that will include additional S-400 missile systems delivery.
