Twitch temporarily bans Trump’s campaign account

Amazon's game streaming service Twitch on Monday announced it temporarily suspended Team Trump, the account tied to the United States President Donald Trump’s campaign, citing promotion of "hateful conduct" as the reason, the Verge reported.

"Like anyone else, politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not make exceptions for political or newsworthy content, and will take action on content reported to us that violates our rules," a Twitch spokesperson told The Verge.

The reasons behind the decision to suspend the account were statements regarding Mexican people from Trump's 2016 campaign rally, recently broadcasted again on Twitch, as well as comments made during the recent rally in Tulsa. Earlier on Monday, social news website Reddit banned approximately 2,000 subreddits, including r/The_Donald, used by Trump's supporters due to violation of the platform's policies.
