Two Dem moderates back $3.5T spending bill - report

Two moderate Democratic representatives told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi they will support the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation plan, Axios reported on Sunday. However, they, along with seven other representatives, demand that the House vote on the smaller bipartisan bill as well. Meanwhile, some progressives in the House threatened not to vote for the bipartisan package until the passage of the larger plan is secured.

"We support swift passage of the president’s $3.5 trillion reconciliation package. The bipartisan infrastructure framework would, on average, deliver $1.2 billion per congressional district. However, the idea that denying passage of the Senate’s Bipartisan Infrastructure bill somehow exercises 'leverage' over some of our more fiscally conservative members is wholly misguided," they said, according to the report. It is currently unclear how many Democratic centrists intend to vote for the $3.5 trillion bill. Democrats hold an eight-seat majority in the House.
