UK GDP growth estimated at 0.1% in Q1

United Kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP) increased 0.1% in the first quarter of 2018, compared to the previous three-month period, according to a second estimate released by the United Kingdom Office for National Statistics on Friday. The figure remains unchanged from the preliminary estimate published last month.

The growth in the first three months of the year was most supported by production output, up 0.6%, and the services industries, rising 0.3% quarter-on-quarter. On the other hand, construction output declined 2.7% in the January to March period and agriculture was down 1.4%.

The GDP is estimated to have increased by 1.2% in volume terms from the same period in 2017.
